Overview

Fundbot is a UAE-based fintech, founded in 2020 by Karl Abou Zeid, that automates corporate lending and payments between banks, buyers, and sellers. Its platform offers a fully automated, end-to-end embedded supply-chain finance solution enabling banks, telcos, fintechs, and B2B marketplaces to embed and rapidly launch financial services. The product aims to address SME cash-flow problems by providing faster, flexible financing, real-time transaction visibility, and reduced manual intervention. Fundbot emphasizes FSI-grade security, running isolated customer infrastructure, regular penetration testing and daily scans, plus region-specific disaster recovery protocols. The company raised a $1.5 million seed round led by Hambro Perks Oryx Fund with participation from Aditum Investment Management, Flat6Labs, MEVP and PlusVC to fund MENA expansion. It plans to expand initially across the UAE and Saudi Arabia and later into Oman, Bahrain, and Egypt. The company cites a regional cash-flow gap of $250 billion affecting 19 million SMEs as rationale for its solution.
