Grid Edge provides AI-powered software that collects data from meters, sensors and building management systems, combines it with external data such as energy tariffs and weather feeds, and uses machine learning to model workplace operations and recommend energy optimisations. Its platform is deployed in developments including Birmingham’s Bull Ring shopping centre and London’s Royal Opera House, and is used by building owners and facilities management companies including Amey, Equans and OCS. The company reported a 150% increase in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in the last year and says it is on course to almost triple ARR again within two years while increasing locations from 120 to 400 in the same period. Grid Edge currently has a 28-strong team and plans to create 15 new jobs in sales, customer support and technical roles. It intends to use the funding to take on more customers and continue developing the platform. The funding is subject to approval under the UK National Security and Investment Act.
