Overview

Highnote provides a streamlined workflow that enables creators to collaborate on audio from demo to distribution, make comments, exchange ideas, and organize notes on any audio file. The platform centralizes communication, reduces rounds of revisions, and aims to scale to projects of any size. Highnote recently launched a Dropbox integration allowing users to open audio files from Dropbox directly in Highnote for lossless playback, review, and notes, with a full 2-way integration planned for November. The company plans to use new funding to expand its development efforts and explore AI-powered features. Targeted AI initiatives include comment summarization, tone analysis, and creative recommendations integrated into editing software to improve creators' workflows. Jordan Bradley is CEO and co-founder. Highnote launched publicly as a collaboration platform for musicians, podcasters and other creators to upload audio into private "Spaces" and add time-specific written and voice notes, polls and version management. The product combines audio playback with interactive, time-aligned annotation cards so comments flow over the track as it plays. Creators invite collaborators to a Space to chat, manage versions, and share private links with fans, producers, engineers and A&R. The platform is free, requires no download, is available on any device, and has been in beta for a year with a few dozen users on its waitlist. Highnote plans to introduce a SaaS subscription model and a "Highnote for Teams" product for larger studios and record labels. Financially, the company closed a $1.7 million pre-seed round to support building and scaling the product.
