UNIRISCO is described as the first and oldest Spanish university venture capital firm, founded to support startups spinning off from academic research with a range of financial instruments. The VC was founded by Galician universities and major regional corporations including Inditex, Abanca and R. UNIRISCO’s CEO, Inmaculada Rodríguez Cuervo, said the investment demonstrates commitment to boosting technological talent in Galicia and confirms continuity of a two-decade project pioneering university seed capital and business acceleration.
