Inverted Edge is an e-tailer that will carry a consignment of goods from 36 Asia‑Pacific designers and is positioning itself with a high-fashion brand and exclusive designs at launch. The company says it will target shoppers outside Asia who want to buy from regional designers rather than competing with mass-market global marketplaces. It has secured $1.6M (S$2M) in funding from a government-backed group of VCs. The business is preparing to launch next month, has a new warehouse in Singapore’s Lavender district and is in the process of stocking it. Inverted Edge currently has a staff of 10 in Singapore. CEO Debra Langley, previously Asia‑Pacific president for Borderlinx and former president of DKNY Jeans’ international operations, leads the company.
