Overview

InVideo is a web-based video creation and editing platform offering a freemium editor for social media-ready videos. The startup has amassed more than 800,000 users who have created videos in over 75 languages. It serves several high-profile customers, including Reuters, AT&T, Dropbox and P&G, with some customers white-labeling the platform. InVideo is currently not fully monetizing its service and charges about $10 per month for premium business customers such as marketing agencies. The company plans to remove the persistent watermark for free users, add collaboration features, and release mobile apps by early next year. It also has teams in the U.S. and several other countries and plans to hire more people to expand its user base and product capabilities. InVideo offers a drag-and-drop online video editor with a library of templates and stock photos and videos, and tools to optimize output for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other platforms. The company launched an automated assistant that makes real-time suggestions to improve videos, focusing initially on text readability and comprehensibility (e.g., contrast and amount/speed of on-screen text). Co-founder and CEO Sanket Shah demonstrated the assistant, likening it to "Grammarly for video." InVideo says it has 100,000 customers across 150 countries, including AT&T, Sony Music, Reuters, CNN and CNBC. Pricing starts at $10 per month, and a free version is available with watermarks. The founders previously worked together on a project to create 10-minute nonfiction book summaries and launched InVideo after finding video creation was not scalable.
