- PRED
Participated · Seed · Feb 2026
PRED is building a sports prediction trading venue on Coinbase’s Layer-2 network Base, aiming to bring financial-exchange-grade performance to the sports wagering sector. The company claims an execution latency of just 200 ms, positioning the product closer to traditional capital market standards than typical sports betting sites. Currently the platform is in a closed internal test phase with an invite-only sign-up process, indicating that public launch is still forthcoming. By leveraging Base, PRED seeks to combine on-chain settlement with rapid off-chain order matching, targeting users who demand speed, transparency, and low fees. Future plans implied by the technical design include scaling to handle high-frequency trading volumes and possibly expanding to additional prediction markets beyond sports. The company has not yet disclosed user numbers, revenues, or other operating metrics, and it remains pre-launch. The newly secured seed financing will fund continued product development, infrastructure hardening, and broader beta rollout.
- Truflation
Participated · Equity · Feb 2024
Truflation is an economic data field company that provides a comprehensive selection of independent indexes and data feeds. It compiles millions of data points aggregated in real time to offer an alternative to data collection methods used by official agencies. The company offers a DRPp (Definitive Reference Point) protocol that tracks real-time data across networks, markets, and feeds. Truflation tracks over 18 million items with three price feeds per item and delivers censorship-resistant, accessible data indices. Its data infrastructure is positioned to empower developers to build open, limitless markets and support systemic advancements in the economy. The company raised $6M and intends to use the funds to expand operations and development efforts.
- OpenCover
Participated · Equity · Sep 2023
OpenCover is a blockchain insurance and cover data startup based in San Francisco and London. The company works with underwriters to help individuals and institutions protect themselves against onchain risks such as protocol exploits and governance attacks. It launched the first Ethereum Layer 2 cover aggregator, which makes over $200m of underwriting capital, initially from Nexus Mutual, accessible on Layer 2 blockchains to reduce transaction costs. OpenCover is launching with support for 12 protocols, including Curve, Aave and Safe, and plans to expand to more than 40 protocols by year-end. The startup is also building a B2B version of the product to enable onchain safety at enterprise scale. OpenCover has raised $4.6M in total funding and is led by founders and YC alumni Jeremiah Smith and Yury Oparin.
- Nestcoin
Participated · Equity · Sep 2023
Nestcoin has repositioned from a venture studio and investment holding company to focus on a single product, Onboard. Onboard, launched in April, is a noncustodial wallet that lets users access keys via email instead of seed phrases and offers instant stablecoin-to-local-currency conversion and a P2P marketplace. The company claims over 10,000 users and plans features including rewards, credit, fast payments, and a virtual card to spend stablecoins across 160+ countries. Nestcoin was materially affected by the FTX collapse, losing millions in assets and cutting headcount; it previously raised $6.45 million in early 2022. The firm says the new funds will shore up finances and help scale Onboard beyond the continent. Onboard is integrated into Coinbase’s Base ecosystem, and Nestcoin has previously raised capital from Binance and FTX and now receives support from Base/coinbase through the Base Ecosystem Fund. Nestcoin builds, operates and invests in consumer-focused, non-custodial web3 products across DeFi, media, digital art and gaming. Its product initiatives include a media arm (Breach) for bite-sized crypto education, a gaming guild (Metaverse Magna) that lends Axies to players under revenue-sharing, and planned DeFi product launches by Q2. The company has about 6,000 subscribers to its educational content; MVM received over 2,000 applications and currently has 400 live gamers with a near-term target of 1,000. Nestcoin also invests in other web3 projects (publicly disclosed: Lazerpay and backing AltSchool Africa) and has experimented with social tokens in partnerships. The team spans nine countries and the firm says it may eventually raise an independent fund to participate in deals and investments. Nestcoin has set audacious user targets including one million monthly transacting users, up to 50 million monthly active users, and one million users holding $10,000 in their wallets.
- InVideo
Participated · Series A · Oct 2020
InVideo is a web-based video creation and editing platform offering a freemium editor for social media-ready videos. The startup has amassed more than 800,000 users who have created videos in over 75 languages. It serves several high-profile customers, including Reuters, AT&T, Dropbox and P&G, with some customers white-labeling the platform. InVideo is currently not fully monetizing its service and charges about $10 per month for premium business customers such as marketing agencies. The company plans to remove the persistent watermark for free users, add collaboration features, and release mobile apps by early next year. It also has teams in the U.S. and several other countries and plans to hire more people to expand its user base and product capabilities. InVideo offers a drag-and-drop online video editor with a library of templates and stock photos and videos, and tools to optimize output for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other platforms. The company launched an automated assistant that makes real-time suggestions to improve videos, focusing initially on text readability and comprehensibility (e.g., contrast and amount/speed of on-screen text). Co-founder and CEO Sanket Shah demonstrated the assistant, likening it to "Grammarly for video." InVideo says it has 100,000 customers across 150 countries, including AT&T, Sony Music, Reuters, CNN and CNBC. Pricing starts at $10 per month, and a free version is available with watermarks. The founders previously worked together on a project to create 10-minute nonfiction book summaries and launched InVideo after finding video creation was not scalable.
