Involtum operates a platform that activates power supplies and handles payments for temporary electricity use at locations such as car parks, campsites, festival grounds, marinas, seaports and truck stops. The company offers a total solution including platform, back office and call center services, payment channels, apps, websites, portals and required hardware, and runs multiple consumer-facing brands (Walstroom, Marktstroom, AanUit.net, Call-Bill, ParkandPower, NomadPower and white labels). Founded in 2012 and based in Rotterdam, Involtum began by providing electrical power at truck stops and has expanded its platform to many other applications, including smartphone payment for launderette machines. The platform aims to replace diesel generators and reduce CO2, particulate matter and noise emissions. Involtum says it manages more than 500,000 transactions for 50,000 users at over 250 locations across Europe, with its user base growing by more than 30,000 a year. The company plans to accelerate rollout and further develop services in Germany, Austria, the UK and the Netherlands while expanding sales and marketing across Europe.
