Joy designs the Octopus connected watch for children, a gamified device that helps kids learn to read the time and complete daily tasks while sending data to a parent app. The product launched in 2016 and positions itself with a playful approach to learning and habit building. Founders Sam Hickmann and Omar Alaouf built the company after a successful crowdfunding campaign. Joy raised $1M on Kickstarter and Indiegogo in June–July 2016.
