Jus Mundi operates a unique law and arbitration database and has launched Jus AI, a multilingual research and productivity assistant for global legal professionals. Jus AI provides natural-language answers with cited sources and tools for document summarization, translation, drafting, and analysis of uploaded documents. The product leverages Jus Connect’s thousands of data-backed profiles and over 70 partnerships with legal institutions to fuel its research, drafting and translation capabilities. More than 20 clients participated in an exclusive Jus AI pilot program and reported a doubling of productivity across research, analysis, drafting and translation tasks. The company emphasizes strict confidentiality for users’ insights and professional-grade legal search across jurisdictions. Funding will support R&D to further develop its AI and expand beyond the 80 countries in which Jus Mundi currently operates. Jus Mundi has built a proprietary search engine that collects and structures international arbitration awards, treaties and related legal data and applies advanced machine learning to handle multilingual, complex datasets. The product is already used by several governments and many top law firms, including DLA Piper, Clifford Chance, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Eversheds Sutherland. Jus Mundi has also signed a distribution partnership with academic publisher Brill | Nijhoff for its academic research service, which is used by universities such as Paris La Sorbonne, Harvard Law School and Kyoto University. The company was founded in late 2018 by five engineers and lawyer Jean-Rémi de Maistre and is based in Paris. To support growth, Jus Mundi closed a €1 million seed round from international angel investors and aims to become the global leading resource for international law and arbitration research before expanding into other fields of law.
