Kipu Quantum

Roonstraße 23a, Karlsruhe, Baden-Wurttemberg, 76137, Germany

Overview

Kipu Quantum is a German company based in Karlsruhe and Berlin that develops compressed, hardware-specific quantum algorithms designed to run on contemporary quantum processors. Its compression technology requires orders of magnitude fewer quantum processor resources and is compatible with leading quantum hardware, enabling customers to run highly complex processes today. The company targets pharmaceutical, chemical, logistics and financial industries and already has implementations with major industrial customers such as BASF. Kipu’s team is led by founders Enrique Solano, Tobias Grab and Daniel Volz and includes around 16 quantum computing PhDs; the team says it set a new protein-folding performance record, beating the previous record by IBM. The firm partners with hardware providers including Pasqal and QuEra and claims its technology can address problems at scales on the order of 1,000 physical qubits. Kipu plans to use new funding to expand its team of scientists, researchers and engineers and accelerate development to shorten the timeline to industrially-useful quantum computers.
