Klang Games is a game studio focused on exploring the future of humanity through various media, anchored by SEED, a large-scale virtual world experienced via AI-driven virtual humans called Seedlings. SEED is set in the world of Avesta and offers a player-driven economy, self-governance, customizable Seedlings, and community-oriented gameplay that relies on player caretaking. The title is currently in pre-alpha and emphasizes creating an online space where people can connect, work together, and build strong communities. With the new funding, the company plans to accelerate SEED’s development, further develop its scalable back-end and technical infrastructure, and double headcount from about 70 to 150 within 12 months while creating a collaborative workplace in central Berlin. Klang Games completed a $41M Series C that brings its total funding to nearly $80M. Founded in 2013 and led by CEO Mundi Vondi, the company also added Isabelle Henriques as Co-CEO and COO in February 2022. Klang Games is an independent, Berlin-based game development studio led by CEO Mundi Vondi. The studio launched its first project, ReRunners: Race for the World, for iOS and Android devices in July 2015. It is now developing Seed, a simulation MMO that utilizes SpatialOS technology to enable small teams to build massive simulations. Klang Games raised $8.95m in funding in the reported round. The company has raised $13.95m to date and will use the new funds to support development of Seed. Klang Games is a Berlin-based independent game studio founded in 2013 by Ívar Emilsson and Oddur Magnússon, together with artist Mundi Vondi. The studio is developing its first title, ReRunners, a mobile and tablet online asynchronous multiplayer with an open world and fast-paced racing gameplay. ReRunners is in beta and slated to launch in New Zealand, Australia, and the Philippines in the coming weeks, with a global launch planned for October. Klang emphasizes maintaining independent roots and creative control, focusing on accessible, social gameplay that builds player communities. The founders collectively bring about 15 years’ experience developing online-multiplayer games from work at CCP Games (EVE Online, Dust 514). London Venture Partners will provide financial support and publishing expertise as part of the partnership.
