La Haus

Carrera 35 # 15b - 143, Edificio 35 Palms Business Tower, Piso 4, Medellín, Antioquia, 050021, Colombia

Overview

La Haus operates an online real estate marketplace focused on new housing in Mexico and Colombia, embedding its software with developers so users can view projects, see real-time unit availability, and complete selection, signing and payment entirely digitally. The company says it is the market leader in selling new housing in Spanish-speaking Latin America by an order of magnitude. Usage metrics show nearly 10x growth in transactions on its Mexico portal in Q2 2021 versus Q2 2020 and over 500 homes sold via lahaus.com and lahaus.mx; La Haus expects to have facilitated more than $1 billion in annualized gross sales by year-end. Founded in 2017, the team previously ran Jaguar Capital, a Colombian developer with over $350 million in completed projects. With the new capital La Haus plans to expand from four to at least 12 markets and be in every major metropolitan area in Mexico and Colombia by year-end. It intends to use the debt portion of the raise to extend financing to developers and buyers, leveraging proprietary transaction data to underwrite loans more quickly, at lower risk and on better terms. La Haus operates a portal and full-service brokerage that aggregates and vets listings, focuses on new developments, and employs its own agents and salespeople to guide buyers through transactions. The founders, Jerónimo Uribe and Rodrigo Sánchez Ríos, previously ran a Colombian real estate development firm and leverage those developer connections to source inventory. The company has expanded its footprint across Colombia and Mexico, with roughly 500 developers listing in Colombia and about 200 in Mexico. Over three years La Haus has facilitated more than 2,000 transactions. Management says the product shortens a market where average sales took as long as 14 months compared with six weeks in the U.S., and the stack is intended to professionalize and digitize Latin American real estate. La Haus plans to use recent capital to accelerate geographic expansion and build an end‑to‑end digital real‑estate experience in the post‑COVID market.
