  • Hyivy Health

    Participated · Seed · Sep 2024

Hyivy Health builds a medical-first pelvic rehab system that pairs a novel therapeutic device with an app and clinician portal to benchmark, monitor and treat pelvic pain. The technology is described as first-of-its-kind for measuring contributors and impact of pelvic pain in endometriosis patients and may help identify more than 51 conditions associated with pelvic pain, including cervical and ovarian cancers. Hyivy prioritized clinical validation and regulatory approval over a direct-to-consumer push and is conducting clinical trials addressing complex gynecological and colorectal patient populations. The company is preparing for U.S. market entry, starting rollout in California with over 25 clinics and actively recruiting additional gynecological and pelvic floor physiotherapy clinics. Hyivy is in the beginning stages of pursuing FDA approval. Founded in 2020 by Rachel Bartholomew following her cervical cancer diagnosis, the team says the product aims to make pelvic rehabilitation more gradual, manageable and clinically connected.

  • CHECKTOBUILD

    Participated · Equity · Dec 2023

CHECKTOBUILD is a Málaga-based company that provides autonomous construction supervision and inspection software using 3D models and artificial intelligence. Its platform compares architectural models with daily video point clouds to automate quality control, progress tracking and weekly measurements, producing 3D results and near–real-time reports. The company says its system reduces analysis and decision times to little over five minutes in many cases (with an average report time of 13 minutes reported). CHECKTOBUILD has spent three years developing the product and has run more than 30 pilot projects while building international presence, notably in the U.S. and Latin America. It entered the U.S. real estate market via MOSS CONSTRUCTION in Florida and has operational clients in Chile, Mexico and Peru. The team cites sustainability and material-waste reduction (early detection of concrete errors) as a core benefit of their solution.

  • Exogene

    Participated · Equity · Oct 2021

Exogene develops an AI platform paired with in-house, high-throughput wet-lab TCR screening to identify rare, natural TCRs for TCR-based cell therapies. The company raised US$2 million to produce core wet‑lab datasets to train and validate its AI and to advance a pilot project with Immunocore. Exogene says its platform can screen billions of TCRs in seconds, addressing scalability limits of current wet‑lab approaches. It plans to partner with pharma and biotech to discover TCRs for therapeutic applications and also to develop its own TCR‑based cell therapies for out‑licensing. Longer term, Exogene aims to expand beyond cancer into larger markets such as immune system rejuvenation by targeting senescent T cells. The company is based at the BioEscalator in Oxford, UK.

  • Justpoint

    Led · Equity · Jun 2021

Justpoint offers an artificial intelligence-powered platform that brings predictive analytics and transparency to the process of finding litigators and assessing claim merits. The system lets prospective plaintiffs select attorneys based on data-driven predicted outcomes and takes on back-office tasks for attorneys. Justpoint’s platform also improves litigation discovery so attorneys can quickly understand a claim’s merit. The company is expanding its attorney-matching offerings for victims of sexual assault and human rights violations and accelerating development of an AI-based platform to help attorneys better understand claims’ merits. Its platform is used by over 1,000 law firms and incorporates more than 300,000 historical claims, with operations in 33 states. Justpoint is a New York-based provider of an AI solution that helps users find the right litigation attorney for their claim. It has developed predictive analytics models that use a proprietary database of historical claims to direct plaintiffs to attorneys likely to represent them best. Founded in 2018 by Victor Bornstein and Oleksandr Zakharchuk, the company plans to scale operations and expand access to potential plaintiffs. To support that expansion, Justpoint secured a $50M line of credit through a strategic partnership with a New York financial institution. The company also raised a $300K bridge round led by Beresford Ventures; it intends to use the funds to scale up operations and bring its service to more potential plaintiffs. Justpoint is an AI-first medical malpractice company that uses machine learning models to analyze individual claims and provide consumers and law firms with assessments of legal merits and instant settlement predictions. The company built a database of over 300,000 historic and active claims to train its models and analyzes performance of over 900 plaintiff law firms at scale. Justpoint connects plaintiffs with lawyers by showing how each law firm performs for specific claim types, helping plaintiffs identify and retain the best attorney and helping firms find cases with merit. It also aims to quickly identify claims lacking legal merit to reduce frivolous lawsuits against healthcare providers and insurers. The startup plans to use the seed funds to hire engineers and designers, expand customer acquisition channels and customer support, and develop partnerships with medical malpractice insurers and self-insured hospitals. Led by CEO Victor Bornstein and based in New York City, the company is redesigning elements of the medical malpractice litigation process.

  • La Haus

    Participated · Series A · Jun 2020

La Haus operates an online real estate marketplace focused on new housing in Mexico and Colombia, embedding its software with developers so users can view projects, see real-time unit availability, and complete selection, signing and payment entirely digitally. The company says it is the market leader in selling new housing in Spanish-speaking Latin America by an order of magnitude. Usage metrics show nearly 10x growth in transactions on its Mexico portal in Q2 2021 versus Q2 2020 and over 500 homes sold via lahaus.com and lahaus.mx; La Haus expects to have facilitated more than $1 billion in annualized gross sales by year-end. Founded in 2017, the team previously ran Jaguar Capital, a Colombian developer with over $350 million in completed projects. With the new capital La Haus plans to expand from four to at least 12 markets and be in every major metropolitan area in Mexico and Colombia by year-end. It intends to use the debt portion of the raise to extend financing to developers and buyers, leveraging proprietary transaction data to underwrite loans more quickly, at lower risk and on better terms. La Haus operates a portal and full-service brokerage that aggregates and vets listings, focuses on new developments, and employs its own agents and salespeople to guide buyers through transactions. The founders, Jerónimo Uribe and Rodrigo Sánchez Ríos, previously ran a Colombian real estate development firm and leverage those developer connections to source inventory. The company has expanded its footprint across Colombia and Mexico, with roughly 500 developers listing in Colombia and about 200 in Mexico. Over three years La Haus has facilitated more than 2,000 transactions. Management says the product shortens a market where average sales took as long as 14 months compared with six weeks in the U.S., and the stack is intended to professionalize and digitize Latin American real estate. La Haus plans to use recent capital to accelerate geographic expansion and build an end‑to‑end digital real‑estate experience in the post‑COVID market.
