Parker (CEO) and Kraus (COO) drew product insights from a 6,000-mile RV road trip and prior work at Tesla and Proterra; the broader team includes alumni from Tesla, Proterra, Apple and Rivian. Lightship has roughly 20 employees and plans to double the team using new capital while developing an alpha prototype. The product goal is to reduce or eliminate towing-related range loss by letting the trailer propel itself and offload energy demand from the tow vehicle. The company remains in stealth and has not yet publicly shown its trailer design.
