Overview
Liquidity Group is a growth-stage debt financier that combines a technology platform with direct lending. It uses machine learning-powered decisioning to accelerate deployment of debt facilities and other financial solutions, typically sized from $5 million to $100 million. The company recently raised $40 million in equity from MUFG and says the investment values it at $1.4 billion. Liquidity and MUFG are forming a joint venture called "Mars Growth Capital Europe," a $250 million debt fund to provide growth financing to late-stage European tech companies and mid-market firms and to offer other financial services. Last year the firm raised $775 million for its fintech platform from Apollo and MUFG. The business is positioning itself in the rapidly expanding growth-financing market amid higher interest rates and competition from players like Wayflyer and Uncapped. Liquidity Group is a credit-oriented fintech platform that uses machine learning and real-time data to automate the full credit investment lifecycle for later-stage technology companies. Founded in 2018, the firm has committed more than $1 billion in capital and has invested in companies including Etoro, Zetwerk and Homer. Its platform combines AI-driven underwriting with real-time data to scale lending and credit investment activity. The company plans to scale its lending activity and expand investments in late-stage tech companies following the new capital partnership. As part of its growth strategy, Liquidity has entered a joint venture with MUFG to form Mars Growth Capital, which will invest in late-stage technology companies, and it will use an Apollo-backed credit facility to grow lending. Apollo Partner Joshua Black will join Liquidity’s board, reflecting deeper ties to its capital partners.
