Maas Loop builds hardware aimed at improving waste management and supporting emerging deposit-return systems. The start-up has developed two devices: Glass Loop, a crusher for single-use glass bottles that can reduce glass waste volume up to fivefold, and Rev Loop, a unit to simplify collection and sorting of plastic bottles and cans. Glass Loop is already distributed to early customers in the U.K. via local waste-management firms, while Rev Loop was piloted by Żabka in Bydgoszcz and Zielona Góra and the company participated in the Orlen Skylight Accelerator and a pilot program. Maas Loop began operations in 2020 and only started sales last year after pandemic-related delays working with retailers and HoReCa. Current revenues remain low, and the company expects contracted deals to increase revenue this year. In the future the team plans to move beyond initial glass crushing into packaging-glass processing and production of water-retentive paving slabs.
