  • Maas Loop

    Participated · Equity · Mar 2024

Maas Loop builds hardware aimed at improving waste management and supporting emerging deposit-return systems. The start-up has developed two devices: Glass Loop, a crusher for single-use glass bottles that can reduce glass waste volume up to fivefold, and Rev Loop, a unit to simplify collection and sorting of plastic bottles and cans. Glass Loop is already distributed to early customers in the U.K. via local waste-management firms, while Rev Loop was piloted by Żabka in Bydgoszcz and Zielona Góra and the company participated in the Orlen Skylight Accelerator and a pilot program. Maas Loop began operations in 2020 and only started sales last year after pandemic-related delays working with retailers and HoReCa. Current revenues remain low, and the company expects contracted deals to increase revenue this year. In the future the team plans to move beyond initial glass crushing into packaging-glass processing and production of water-retentive paving slabs.

  • Inuru

    Participated · Equity · Oct 2023

Inuru develops cost-efficient OLED micro-lighting, electro-lighting labels and digitally printed lighting films (including self-powered Embeddable Lighting Films) aimed at interactive labelling and product illumination. The company holds a portfolio of 25 patents and supplies customers such as CEACO, Displate, Cattier and Coca‑Cola, and has launched an OLED-infused game board set sold at Walmart. Inuru has completed an automated production line near Berlin to lower manufacturing costs and scale output. Its strategic focus is on intelligent medication labelling to improve adherence and on expanding into the entertainment and FMCG sectors. Management expects triple-digit revenue growth this year and is evaluating multiple financial avenues, including the prospect of an IPO, to support rapid scaling and geographic expansion.

  • Apeiron Synthesis

    Led · Equity · Dec 2022

Apeiron Synthesis produces a ruthenium-based catalyst powder for olefin-based metathesis reactions, developed from research following a Nobel Prize discovery. The company has set up production lines and says the powder currently costs up to €70,000 to produce. Apeiron reports its catalyst reduces process phases from 20 to 16 and can lower clients' production costs by about 20%, equating to roughly €20 million in annual savings for customers. A leading Polish corporate, PKN Orlen, has agreed to deploy the technology in its petrochemicals division, providing an early commercial partner. The research team was mentored by professor Karol Grela at the Polish Academy of Sciences. Apeiron aims to secure a niche in metathesis catalysts alongside existing suppliers as global demand grows.
