Overview
Musement operates a "digital travel companion" and ticketing platform that lets travellers discover and book things to do, providing end-to-end ticketing and real-time availability checks. Its technology performs real-time checks for same-day tickets, current availability and e-ticket acceptance, and can send push notifications when travellers are close to an attraction to enable skip-the-line bookings. The company has launched a Messenger chatbot to help users search for city activities and builds bespoke end-to-end platforms for travel agents, hotels, airlines and venues. Musement has partnerships with Travelport, 15below and Trekksoft and currently operates in 450 cities across 55 countries in seven languages. Founded in 2013 with headquarters in Milan and a recently opened office in Barcelona, the company plans to use new capital to invest further in technology, growth and additional offices. The startup closed a $10M Series B to support execution of this vision. Musement is a booking service for travel activities that curates experiences around sightseeing, food and wine, tours, trekking and diving. It concentrates on locations that can be harder to book seamlessly and targets the "experiential traveller." The company launched at TechCrunch Disrupt in New York in 2013 and grew out of Italy. Musement now plans to expand across Europe and the Americas. It has raised €5M in Series A funding from P101, 360 Capital Partners, Micheli Associati and Italian Angels for Growth. The company cites a market worth $100 billion globally and $37 billion in Europe. Musement is an online platform that aggregates information, suggestions and booking for tickets, guided tours and audioguides for museums, monuments and art events. The service launched in public beta in April 2013 and currently features a portfolio of venues and events in the main Italian cities. The company is led by CEO Alessandro Petazzi alongside Claudio Bellinzona, Paolo Giulini and Fabio Zecchini. Musement raised $950K in funding and intends to use the proceeds to expand into new markets. Over the next few months it plans to begin offering information, tickets, tours and activities for other EU countries, and a mobile app is expected.
