Founded in Berlin in 2023 by Nick Zumbühl, Nicolas Somogyi and Anna Alex, Nala Earth has built a nature intelligence platform that combines a global database of scientifically validated environmental data from more than 50 sources with proprietary AI models that analyse satellite imagery. The software lets corporates quantify dependencies and impacts on ecosystems, manage risks such as biodiversity loss or water scarcity, and comply with emerging regulations like the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). It shortens biodiversity and nature-related reporting cycles from months to days and is aligned with frameworks such as TNFD and the Science Based Targets Network. The company already counts ten paying customers, including projects with Volkswagen and partnerships with BASF and Continental, through which over 3,000 hectares of natural assets are being managed on the platform. Demand is accelerating as executives face mounting pressure to integrate environmental considerations into procurement, operations and investment decisions. With fresh capital, Nala Earth plans to broaden its product capabilities and unlock new use cases across nature and biodiversity management.
