NEAR Foundation develops NEAR Protocol, a scalable, climate‑neutral blockchain built for ease of use for developers and end users, emphasizing high speeds, low fees and progressive user interfaces. The protocol can run standalone or interoperate with Ethereum, Polkadot, Cosmos and other chains to support a multichain future. Since mainnet launch in Q4 2020, the network has processed more than 70 million transactions and supports over 2.3 million accounts; the community counts roughly 200,000 members, 1,700 active monthly builders and more than 100 guilds.
