Founded in 2021 by Prasanta Sarkar and Rochan Sinha, Newtrace designs and manufactures Voltagen, a proprietary electrode technology for alkaline water electrolyzers used in green hydrogen production. The electrodes are intended as drop-in replacements, enabling electrolyzer manufacturers, green hydrogen project developers and industrial gas companies to boost efficiency, extend system lifetimes and lower hydrogen costs without redesigning existing systems. The company plans to use its latest funding to scale pilot manufacturing, validate its technology with customers and broaden both engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Newtrace targets initial commercial deliveries of Voltagen electrodes within the next 12 months. For the fiscal year ended March 2025, it recorded operating revenue of Rs 1.8 crore while losses widened 73 % to Rs 15.6 crore.
