Nurami Medical
36 Ha-Namal St., Haifa, Israel
Overview
Nurami Medical, founded in 2014 and based in Haifa, Israel, develops implants and sealants built on electrospun fibers and advanced materials to improve outcomes in soft tissue surgeries. Its inaugural product, ArtiFascia®, a novel dura repair graft, has been launched in the US and is awaiting CE approval. The company leverages unique combinations of electrospun polymers and smart materials and is advancing a second product that is currently in pre-clinical trials. Nurami will use the EIC funding to accelerate development of that second product. Management includes co-CEOs Nora Nseir Manassa and Hannoch Marksheid and co-founder Dr. Amir Bahar, who serves as COO and Clinical Director. Nurami Medical develops synthetic, biodegradable nanofiber technologies to support post-surgical healing and soft-tissue regeneration, with a lead product called ArtiFascia, a patented synthetic dural graft. ArtiFascia is designed to boost dura regeneration and prevent cerebrospinal fluid leakage after cranial neurosurgery. The company is running a clinical trial testing ArtiFascia in 90 patients, 13 of whom have already been implanted. Nurami is also developing additional products targeting the broader soft-tissue healing and regeneration market, estimated at $20 billion. The company plans to use recent funding to complete the ongoing clinical trial and to pursue FDA and CE regulatory approvals. Nurami was established in 2014 and is led by co-CEOs Nora Nseir Manassa (Co-CEO and CTO) and Hannoch Marksheid; Dr. Amir Bahar and NGT3VC were founders, and Doron Birger is active chairman of the board.
