Nordre Fasanvej 215, Frederiksberg, 2000, Denmark
Overview
Orbis Medicines pioneers oral macrocycle drug discovery with a focus on creating orally available macrocycle candidates called nCycles. Its nGen platform combines highly automated chemistry and machine learning to generate and analyze large numbers of synthetic macrocycles, with hit-finding libraries of 100 billion compounds and the ability to synthesize and analyze up to 100,000 distinct macrocycles in weeks. The company is initially targeting high-value oral alternatives to blockbuster biologic drugs and aims to address targets that have been challenging for other modalities. Orbis has published proof-of-concept work in Nature Communications and Nature Chemical Biology. The company is located in Copenhagen, Denmark and Lausanne, Switzerland and recently appointed Morten Graugaard as CEO to lead its next growth phase. Orbis Medicines is a biotechnology company focused on oral macrocycle drug discovery. Its platform uses an automated chemistry approach to systematically explore the macrocycle chemical space and deliver oral macrocycle drug candidates called 'nCycles'. The nCycles are intended to be suitable for both intra- and extracellular targets. The company's programs prioritize oral alternatives to blockbuster biologic drugs and tackle targets challenging for established modalities. Orbis plans to use the seed financing to support expansion and advancement of its nCycles portfolio. The scientific foundation for the company was developed by Prof. Christian Heinis and Sevan Habeshian at EPFL.
