Pismo is a cloud-native core processing platform that supplies banking and payments infrastructure to banks, fintechs and other financial institutions. Its platform handles more than 4 billion API calls monthly, hosts over 30 million accounts and processes over $3.5 billion in transaction volume per month, up from under $1 billion earlier this year. As a SaaS business it primarily charges transaction fees and per-active-account pricing that decreases with volume. The platform enables customers to launch cards, payments, digital banking, digital wallets and marketplace products via an API-first architecture and to take control of core data. Founded in 2016, Pismo counts customers such as Banco Itaú, BTG, Cora, N26 and Falabella, and has scaled headcount from about 40 in March 2020 to over 250 employees. The company plans to expand outside Latin America, open offices in Austin and Bristol, accelerate development of banking, payments and markets infrastructure, invest in sales and go-to-market, and hire more than 200 engineers.
