Overview

Platform.sh offers an end-to-end platform that abstracts web app infrastructure, enabling development teams to build, host and scale websites and web applications while reducing the need for IT and cloud operations. The platform supports multiple languages and frameworks, provides a dashboard for managing databases and workflows, creates production replicas for testing and sharing, and versions infrastructure changes while resolving build dependencies and tests automatically. Founded in 2015 by Fred Plais, Damien Tournoud and Ori Pekelman, the company serves roughly 5,000 customers including Adobe, Nestlé, the Financial Times and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, as well as universities and government organizations. Platform.sh reports $45 million in annual recurring revenue, up 50% from 2021. It currently has around 340 employees and plans to grow to over 400 in the next year, focusing hires in North America and Western Europe. The company has offices in France, Germany, the U.S. and the U.K., and says it will use recent funding to hire and "double down" on automation. Platform.sh is an idea-to-cloud application platform that simplifies cloud infrastructures with git-driven technology to develop, test, deploy and run cloud-based web applications. It supports enterprise-scale production environments with an automated cloud and rapid cloning technology that can spin up exact clones of live web applications in less than 60 seconds. The platform reports a 90% reduction in DevOps efforts versus DIY solutions and 40% improved productivity compared with managed hosting providers. More than 650 enterprise customers and thousands of self-serve and enterprise customers worldwide use Platform.sh, including Magento, Gap Inc., The Financial Times, the British Council and Hachette Book Group. The company reported 110% year-over-year revenue growth and plans to use the new funding to accelerate its go-to-market strategy in North America and support its rapidly growing customer base. Platform.sh is headquartered in Paris and San Francisco and positions itself to unify production, testing and development workflows across industry verticals.
