Overview
Qblox develops the Cluster, a scalable and modular quantum control stack that combines key technologies for qubit control and readout and supports a variety of qubit platforms. The company says it currently serves over one hundred customers and has grown largely fueled by revenue rather than external investments. This Series A is Qblox’s first equity financing. The $26M round will enable expanded research and development, accelerated product development, and a stronger market position. Qblox also plans to expand its team to meet growing demand and drive future growth. CEO Niels Bultink characterized the funding as securing long‑term growth and positioning Qblox as an enabler for industrial‑scale quantum systems. Qblox develops the Cluster series, next-generation qubit control hardware designed to make quantum computers more scalable and practical. The Cluster is a modular 19" rack system that integrates multiple control functions and can control up to 20 qubits from a single device, reducing size, cost, and cabling complexity. By cascading multiple Cluster units, the company aims to enable integrated control for much larger numbers of qubits with low-latency feedback. The hardware emphasizes ultra-low signal noise and tight control to address qubit fragility and error-correction challenges. Qblox won a CES 2021 Innovation Award and recently secured €4.8M in funding from the European Innovation Council (Horizon 2020). Founded in 2019 as a spinoff of QuTech and based in Delft, the company is focused on building control hardware stacks for upcoming generations of quantum processors.
