Overview
Qlub offers a QR code–driven dining payments and ordering platform that enables guests to browse menus, order, and settle bills from their phones. The company integrates directly with multiple POS systems to support restaurant operations. Qlub works with a range of restaurants and cafes, including Paul Cafe, Wagamama, and Sushi Samba, and is active across markets such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Brazil, Qatar, Kuwait, and Korea. The business emphasizes a faster, smoother dining experience and plans product enhancements with advanced analytics. Qlub has secured external capital to accelerate global expansion and to strengthen its presence in existing markets. The article does not disclose revenue or other operating metrics beyond its customer, market, and integration footprints. Qlub provides a payments solution aimed at bars and restaurants, enabling streamlined digital transactions at hospitality venues. The company launched its service in Brazil in March 2022 and processed its first transaction in the country in July of the following year. Qlub says its transaction volume in Brazil has been doubling month to month, and it currently operates only in the state of São Paulo. In Brazil it has partnerships with more than 20 management-system and digital-ordering providers, including major national players. The startup plans to use new funding to expand its product offering to other Brazilian states and to grow its partner network. Qlub also intends to strengthen operations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Singapore and India, and pursue further international expansion this year. Qlub emerged from stealth to build a QR-based payment solution that lets restaurant customers scan a code to pay without an app or registration. Users can split bills and pay with Apple Pay, credit card, or in installments similar to BNPL. Qlub positions the product to increase table turnover, tip potential and online ratings while reducing contact between guests and staff. The founding team includes Arun Sharma, Eyad Alkassar, Filiberto Pavan, Gizem Bodur, Jeff Matsuda, Jianggan Li, John Mady, Mahmoud Fouz, Oscar Bedoya and Ramy Omar, who have previously founded or scaled companies such as Lazada, Namshi and Snapp. Co-founder Eyad Alkassar is currently co-founder and managing director for Rocket Internet Middle East and is phasing out that involvement. Qlub has launched in the UAE, KSA and India, with additional international markets planned. Financially, the company completed a $17M seed financing co-led by Cherry Ventures and Point Nine Capital.
