Radar Reticence

Overview

Radar Reticence produces a software solution that addresses dangerous false 'ghost targets' caused by interference between multiple automotive radars, and uniquely its system does not require new hardware — it can be installed into existing radar systems. The startup is testing its product in real traffic and is running trials together with Volkswagen-owned Nira Dynamics while drawing interest from major suppliers like Bosch, Continental and Texas Instruments. Through its EIC Accelerator project the company aims to progress from prototype testing to a certified, sellable product for the automotive industry. Radar Reticence was founded in 2022 by researchers Emil Nilsson and Hans Hellsten and operates from the Lead incubator in Linköping. The company currently employs six people and plans to double its team over the next year; the new funding will be used to run the first customer pilot and scale the organization. Prior financing includes about 3.2 million kronor in venture capital and roughly 4.2 million kronor in Vinnova grants.
