The company was founded in 2018 by Guilherme Berardo and Dr. Vitor Asseituno and began operations in 2020. Sami reports more than 18,000 active members and expects to surpass 27,000 members this year, while shifting from a direct-online sales model to a multichannel approach that now includes brokers. Operational metrics cited include 95% of primary-care services delivered online, a 95% customer satisfaction (CSAT) with the health team, case resolution above 80%, hospitalization frequency 39% lower than large insurers and an average claims ratio (siniestralidad) of 71% versus roughly 85% for conventional operators. Financially, Sami closed 2022 with annualized revenues of R$60 million and targets R$120 million this year, and the company says it is aiming for breakeven within the next year. Sami plans to use the new capital to deploy and improve technological tools, optimize operations and reinforce expansion strategies in the corporate market.
