Soter Analytics builds wearable devices and AI-driven software aimed at preventing work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Its system can identify over 100 million hazards while specifically tracking back and shoulder movements to reduce injury risk. The wearables are deployed across jobs including warehousing and construction and enable workers to track progress and use personalized training programs. The company recently raised $12 million to support its growth and product development. Management plans to grow market share in the US, Europe and the UK and to expand into additional European markets, notably France, Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia. Soter says it will use the fresh capital to invest in research and development and to work with organizations to improve workplace safety, decrease employee turnover and accelerate return-to-work for injured staff. Soter Analytics builds SoterSpine, a wearable device and companion app that identifies and quantifies musculoskeletal risk, gives instant feedback on high-risk movements, and provides an AI health coach with personalised training. The founders include CEO Matthew Hart and co‑founder Alexey Pavlenko; the team is based at CORE within the FLUX co‑working space. The company has run trials with miner Roy Hill and demoed at industry events including the Australian Oil & Gas conference and Unearthed. They received a A$20,000 grant from NERA and were finalists in the Startup Challenge. Hardware development posed challenges (notably an early Bluetooth issue that they have since fixed), and the company says it needs working capital to build device inventory. Target verticals are construction, energy and resources, logistics and healthcare, with pilots planned for Travis Perkins and Vinci Construction and a keynote at ASSE planned.
