Overview
Tensil is developing Scenery, a full-featured video editing and production tool that runs in the browser. The founding team includes Mike Folgner, Ryan Cunningham, Ashot Petrosian and Chris Martin; Folgner previously sold Jumpcut.com to Yahoo and SnappyTV to Twitter. Scenery leverages WebGL, WASM and modern web tech to deliver performant, feature-rich editing in the browser and replaces the traditional timeline with a two-dimensional canvas. The company positions Scenery as a video production system designed for faster, collaborative workflows and to bring non-editors into the process similar to how Figma changed design collaboration. Tensil is currently developing and testing an alpha and is taking signups from testers. The company has raised $3.89 million in funding to support product development and testing.
