PrazAs Learning's Tabtor is an iPad-based educational technology platform that combines personalized teaching, patent-pending 'real-paper' handwritten input sharing and review, automatic grading, video tutorials, and adaptive analytics. The product started with mathematics and is gaining customers in private schools in the US and India, and the company is creating a tablet version offering at-home tutoring opportunities for students and families. Tabtor is currently available only on iPads but the company plans to expand to Windows 8 and Android tablets. PrazAs is based in New Jersey and Chennai and was founded by Raj Valli, who serves as CEO. The company partnered with Kadokawa Shoten to add gamification and bring a combined learning and gaming experience to K-12 students in India. PrazAs raised $1 million in a seed round led by New Jersey-based SoundBoard Angel Fund, with participation from Bangalore-based Aarin Capital Partners, Sand Hill Angels, BITS Spark Angels and other individual investors. The funds will be used for product development, making the platform scalable across devices and partners, and accelerating consumer market entry.
