TRIBBU

Calle Reina Mercedes, 1 - 3, Madrid, 28020, Spain

Overview

Founded in 2019 and formerly known as Hoop Carpool, TRIBBU connects drivers and passengers who make similar daily trips, aiming to fill empty car seats and cut emissions. Its app now integrates Energy Savings Certificates (CAEs), paying drivers €1 per passenger per journey to incentivise carpooling. The service has already facilitated more than 500,000 shared rides and is used by over 100 organisations such as Iberostar, Mercedes-Benz, and Schneider Electric. While Spain remains its core market, TRIBBU is also active in Portugal, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Panama, and Guatemala, with plans to deepen its Latin American footprint where public transport is often limited. The new capital will be directed toward broadening its Spanish user base, enhancing the app and CAE system, and targeting groups like university students and suburban commuters. Longer-term, the company wants carpooling to become as routine as taking a bus, thereby reducing traffic congestion and carbon emissions. The recent funding round strengthens its financial position and aligns with Europe’s 2025 push toward shared, low-emission mobility solutions.
