  • Mafer AI

    Led · Seed · May 2026

Mafer AI develops MaferOS, a modular AI-native platform that structures fragmented R&D data (chromatograms, technical sheets, formulas and regulatory documents), automates regulatory compliance across jurisdictions and runs specialist AI agents to propose new formulations. The company trains proprietary, client-specific models on each customer's historical technical data and embeds forward deployed engineers to accelerate production deployments from weeks. Mafer emphasizes data protection and on-premises or dedicated-model training, with plans to advance foundational models trained using compute provided via the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. Mafer targets industries that formulate products—aromas, fragrances, specialty chemicals, food ingredients, pharma and nutraceuticals—citing large addressable markets and structural R&D bottlenecks. Founded in 2025 by Fer Oliver Jané and Marc Montalbo Burges, the startup currently has eight employees (including two co-founders and specialists with PhDs) and plans to grow to 12 by Q2 2026. The company aims to convert pilot customers into public references and expand platform modules while continuing to build its technical team and model roadmap.
