Vaire

Unit 6.01, York House, 221 Pentonville Road, London, N1 9UZ, United Kingdom

Overview

Vaire Computing is a London- and Seattle-based startup building silicon chips that implement reversible (time-reversible) computing to minimize energy dissipation and heat. Its core approach recycles energy internally inside the chip rather than releasing it as heat, aiming for negligible power use per operation. The company says reversible architectures can scale as many small, ultra-efficient cores and could be used for general-purpose CPUs or GPUs. Founders are serial entrepreneur Rodolfo Rosini and Hannah Earley, a University of Cambridge researcher in unconventional computing. Vaire has hired senior scientist Mike Frank and was named to Intel Ignite’s second U.K. cohort. Financially, it raised a $4M seed round and had previously raised $500k, bringing total disclosed funding to $4.5M.
