Overview
Voke builds stereoscopic, panoramic camera systems to produce 3D live streams that can be broadcast to VR headsets and 2D streams for mobile devices, tablets, and TV. Its VR experiences offer multiple viewpoints, instant seat changes, pause/rewind functionality, and graphic overlays (for sponsorships and game details such as first-down lines). The company has strategic partnerships with professional teams including the Sacramento Kings and the Jacksonville Jaguars and has delivered live VR streams such as the Kings’ season opener to fans in Mumbai. Voke was founded by Sankar (Jay) Jayaram and Uma Jayaram, who originally developed the technology and tested experiences at Washington State University. The company is now based in Silicon Valley and is advised by entertainment and sports figures including Marc Anthony; Jeff Jonas serves as CCO. Voke plans to use new funding to secure more top sports for live streaming in VR.
