WeSchool is an online learning platform launched by Italian MOOC Oilproject that helps teachers bring classroom activities online and integrate third-party educational content. The product uses 'Boards' to combine videos, articles, tools and services (Khan Academy, BBC, Geogebra, Duolingo, Wikipedia, Google Docs, Dropbox, Instagram) into single learning journeys usable on any connected device. It provides teacher tools to manage deadlines and create tests with nine question types, including video quizzes, crosswords, fill-in-the-blanks and pair-the-cards, turning exercises into mini games playable on mobile and desktop. WeSchool is initially available in English, Spanish and Italian and is positioned to compete with LMS platforms like Moodle and EdModo by focusing on in-class engagement rather than distance-only MOOCs. The company plans to sell annual software-as-a-service licenses to schools and companies. WeSchool builds on Oilproject's existing scale: Oilproject reports 1.7 million unique visitors per month and more than 18,000 hours studied per day. The project was started by Marco De Rossi and the company was incorporated in 2011.
