ZiLift is an Aberdeen-based developer of next-generation artificial lift solutions aimed at enabling downhole pumping where current systems cannot be deployed. The company focuses on gas well deliquification, oil and heavy oil applications and is working on several E&P client‑sponsored projects. Its technologies seek to reduce time and cost associated with installing and servicing conventional artificial lift equipment. ZiLift says the global artificial lift market is estimated at about US$6 billion and notes artificial lift technologies are used in roughly 80% of oil wells worldwide. The company was established in May 2010, is headquartered in Aberdeen and employs 28 personnel. Proceeds from the recent financing will be used to complete product development and achieve commercialisation; prototype testing is in its final stage with field trials planned for the second half of 2012. ZiLift is pursuing joint development programs with ConocoPhillips, Chevron and a major Middle East operator to accelerate deployment and commercialisation.
