  • Wireless Seismic

    Wireless Seismic develops RT System 2, a fully scalable wireless seismic recording system that transmits data in real time for onshore seismic acquisition and passive monitoring of hydraulic fracturing. The company emphasizes a cable-less approach it says is becoming a new standard for land seismic work. Headquartered in Sugar Land, Texas, it also maintains offices around the world. Wireless Seismic positions its recording systems to help contractors handle challenging surveys more efficiently and commercially. The company recently expanded its board to six members following new investment and aims to use the partnership with Total to support international expansion. Wireless Seismic develops and provides a wireless seismic data acquisition system (RT-1000) offering real-time data return to the exploration and production industry. Its core product, the RT-1000, capitalizes on emerging seismic, wireless and mesh-network technologies. The company completed a $19.5M funding round and intends to use the proceeds to scale up manufacturing operations for the RT-1000.     ZiLift is an Aberdeen-based developer of next-generation artificial lift solutions aimed at enabling downhole pumping where current systems cannot be deployed. The company focuses on gas well deliquification, oil and heavy oil applications and is working on several E&P client‑sponsored projects. Its technologies seek to reduce time and cost associated with installing and servicing conventional artificial lift equipment. ZiLift says the global artificial lift market is estimated at about US$6 billion and notes artificial lift technologies are used in roughly 80% of oil wells worldwide. The company was established in May 2010, is headquartered in Aberdeen and employs 28 personnel. Proceeds from the recent financing will be used to complete product development and achieve commercialisation; prototype testing is in its final stage with field trials planned for the second half of 2012. ZiLift is pursuing joint development programs with ConocoPhillips, Chevron and a major Middle East operator to accelerate deployment and commercialisation.

    Stingray Geophysical is a Guildford, UK-based provider of Seismic Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (Seismic PRM) solutions to the upstream oil and gas industry. Its core product line focuses on Seismic PRM systems and services to monitor reservoirs over time. The company says its solutions enable oil company customers to produce more, increase reserves and reduce through-life cost and risk. Stingray completed a £3.15m funding round in May 2010. Investors in the round included existing shareholders Energy Ventures, Cody Gate Ventures, Chevron Technology Ventures and Statoil Venture, together with Magne Sveen and Martin Bett.
