- Claryx
Participated · Seed · Aug 2026
Claryx develops genomic surveillance technology—branded CloneLink—that reads genomes of confirmed patient infections, links related cases into outbreaks, and traces each to likely sources including environmental reservoirs. The platform also builds a digital twin of a hospital from air, water and surface sampling to locate reservoirs of transmission, and Claryx says its proprietary chemistry cuts the most expensive sequencing step by more than twentyfold so continuous running is affordable. The company was founded by Kurt and Dirk Hackenberger and is based in New York, and it is already live across multiple health systems. The team highlights peer-reviewed results from a two-year study at UPMC Presbyterian that found 172 otherwise undetected outbreaks, stopped 96% of traced outbreaks, and estimated avoided infections, deaths and a 3.2-fold return on the program cost. Claryx positions itself as building a "hospital immune system" that detects transmission in real time and confirms when interventions worked. The company announced a $3.5 million pre-seed raise to scale deployments and operations.
- RetailReady
Participated · Seed · Jun 2024
RetailReady builds a tablet app that replaces paper warehouse manuals and delivers directed workflows to ensure orders are packed to retailer requirements. The product uses large language models to ingest shipping requirement manuals and is developing a computer-vision module to photo-capture and validate workers’ packing processes. The founders, Elle Smyth and Sarah Hamer, are recent grads of Y Combinator’s winter 2024 cohort and previously worked together at supply-chain startup Stord. RetailReady targets a roughly $40 billion retail compliance market and aims to reduce improperly shipped items and associated chargebacks. Six months after launch the company is onboarding six customers across brands, warehouses and retailers. The startup raised seed funding to hire additional employees and accelerate product and technology development.
