Participated · Equity · Nov 2023
Xlinks is developing the Morocco-UK Power Project to generate 11.5 GW of zero-carbon electricity from solar and wind and deliver 3.6 GW of reliable energy for an average of 19+ hours a day. The project couples large-scale generation with a 22.5 GWh/5 GW onsite battery to provide near-constant, flexible clean power to Great Britain. Electricity will be transmitted exclusively via approximately 3,800 km of HVDC subsea cables and is expected to supply enough power for over 7 million British homes and around 8% of Great Britain’s electricity once complete. The company aims to deliver low-cost, reliable renewable power by the end of the decade and to complement the UK grid’s existing renewables. Xlinks First Limited was founded in 2019 in the United Kingdom and is backed by strategic energy investors.
- Naked Energy
Participated · Series A · Nov 2019
Naked Energy develops the Virtu product range of high-density solar thermal and solar PVT systems that generate renewable heat and, in the case of VirtuPVT, both heat and electricity from the same rooftop footprint. The company also builds digital tools for system design, monitoring and performance optimisation to support deployment across commercial, industrial and public-sector buildings. It holds more than 20 patents and emphasizes low-profile panels that increase usable roof-area compared with conventional tilted solar panels. Naked Energy has delivered projects at notable UK sites such as the British Library and the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon, and is active across Europe and North America. Founded in 2009, the company is scaling manufacturing capacity in the UK following prior fundraising, including a €6.12 million Series A in 2019 and a €19.8 million Series B in 2024, to support international growth and export opportunities.
