Founded in 2010, Applix is a company focused on mobile solutions for brands, publishers and institutions willing to create their own digital presence in an innovative and relevant way. We are a strategic partner for some of the most important publishers and businesses, specialising in two main lines of business: Digital Publishing: we change publishing products into digital experiences. Our solutions allow to transform any kind of paper-based publication into an interactive edition available for smartphone, tablet and computer and to manage information in a fluid and innovative way, monitoring all readers’ activities. Mobile & Apps: we offer tailor-made solutions for the needs of each client. We make our experience, our technologies and our innovation skills available to turn any project into a customised mobile product. In 2011 our company gained a €3 million investment, underwritten by Principia 2 fund, by the investment company AngelLab and by the company Hyppo Corporation, laying the foundation for the international roll-out of its products. In 2012 and 2014 we completed the acquisition of Xorovo and bSmart, today business units of the company: the former, speciasing in the development of end user and enterprise solutions for mobile devices, the latter, focused on digital publishing services for education. Our Apps have received several international awards and have been downloaded in more than 120 countries, reaching the top 10 of the Stores ranking in over 50 of them with millions of downloads.

Premium Store is a Milan-based startup that operates a platform for Italian publishers to distribute newspapers and magazines online. It works exclusively with Consorzio Edicola Italiana to develop and manage the Edicola Italiana platform. Users can subscribe to the service, search for HTML5 items and e-books, and access publishers' proprietary apps. The company plans to use the funds to expand its responsive platform to distribute products for tablet, PC and smartphone, and to launch the platform during Summer 2014. Premium Store raised €1m in funding, with Digital Magics investing €200k and acquiring a 63.5% stake; other backers include DBInformation, Johan Bode, Ivan Boni, Sabino Maria Frassà, Antonino Pisana, Andrea Rangone, Lodovico Rosnati, the Custodi di Successo–Milano network, and Applix.
