Tech Bureau is an Osaka, Japan–based fintech and cryptocurrency company that operates a bitcoin exchange platform and offers an online financial information platform. The company provides blockchain technology and cryptographic currency services, including exchange APIs for handling currency encryption and exchange operations. Tech Bureau offers Mijin, a private blockchain product whose functionality has been proven as a bank, a microfinance ledger, and an electronic money core banking system. The recent funding is intended to support a partnership with renewable-energy firm Looop Inc and Crypto Mining Japan Inc; Looop and CMJ will utilize resources in the COMSA ecosystem for their ICOs. The company announced it raised US$767,500 from Shinsei Bank and OKWave. Previously, in May 2016 Tech Bureau raised $6,200,000 in a Series A from FISCO Capitals and six other investors, and to date has raised a total of $20,975,891. Tech Bureau provides consultancy and technical services for blockchain adoption and operates the mijin blockchain (based on NEM) and the Zaif bitcoin exchange. It is developing COMSA, a one-stop ICO platform that will handle white papers, technical integrations, sale management, community management and marketing. The company plans to host 20–30 token sales next year and has four launches planned this year, including Campfire and Premium Water Holdings. Tech Bureau has attracted 150,000 registered users who will be able to invest on COMSA once live, and reports that roughly 50% of inbound issuer interest is from outside Japan. Financially, it announced a $15 million investment from JAFCO to kickstart its plans and had previously raised $10 million. The VC funding will be used to hire talent, develop the platform and open at least four offices worldwide.
