  Particle is building a platform that enables collective ownership of fine art by splitting acquired masterpieces into 10,000 unique NFTs called “Particles,” each with a title deed stored on the Avalanche blockchain. The company acquired an iconic masterpiece at auction earlier in the year and plans to transfer physical ownership to the Particle Foundation, a non-profit museum that will maintain, display, and tour the collection on behalf of the community. Purchasers of Particles receive a digital certificate and can buy, sell, trade, or transfer their Particle on secondary markets. Particle was founded by Loïc Gouzer, Shingo Lavine, Adam Lavine, Philip Eytan, and Oscar Salazar and emphasizes combining art and blockchain expertise. The founders plan to unveil the first acquisition in November 2021 and add additional works to the collection in 2022. Particle has raised $15 million in seed funding to support its launch and community engagement plans.

  Asteya is a Miami, FL-based income insurance startup founded by CEO Alex Williamson and Chief Product Officer Hadi Radwan. Williamson previously served as Chief Brand Officer at Bumble. The company has just launched a product that offers monthly plans to help individuals, including gig economy workers, protect their income. Asteya works with A-rated carriers, including Munich Re and certain underwriters at Lloyd’s. The startup raised $10M in funding from a group of institutional and angel investors as it brings its product to market.
