- Epitome Therapeutics
Participated · Grant · Jun 2026
Epitome Therapeutics is developing a proprietary epigenome editing platform called CADENCE that aims to enable precise, durable and calibrated activation of gene expression without changing DNA sequence. The platform uses a modular architecture built around a library of engineered epigenetic effectors intended to tailor gene activation to specific biological contexts. The company was founded in 2025 as a spin-off from EMBL and is focused on translating its science into development programmes and selecting a first drug candidate. Financially, Epitome closed a €4 million pre-seed financing (€2M equity plus €2M grants) to advance the platform and grow its team. The company plans to use the new capital to advance development programmes and expand its headcount as it progresses toward initial therapeutic milestones.
- Another Earth
Participated · Equity · Mar 2026
Another Earth develops a generative-AI and 3D-modeling platform that produces synthetic, fully labelled satellite imagery and geospatial datasets. By removing the need for costly real-world imagery and manual annotation, the system lets organisations train and test Earth observation algorithms more quickly and at lower cost. The technology is already being used with GeoTerra Image in Sub-Saharan Africa to track the environmental impact of mining and industrial operations, and the company has partnered with NovaTerra in Brazil to support deforestation monitoring, agricultural analysis, and climate-risk assessment. With its Synthetic Data Engine, Another Earth aims to move customers from reactive crisis response to proactive, predictive intervention across land, water, and infrastructure applications. The Vienna-based startup intends to deploy its platform across Latin America and Africa, concentrating on biodiversity monitoring, deforestation tracking, and broader environmental risk analysis. To date, it has secured €3.5 million in external funding to accelerate product deployment and international expansion.
- Wood Space
Led · Equity · Dec 2025
Founded in 2019 as a joint venture between Corporate Venture Builder whataventure and the South Tyrolean Rubner Group, Wood Space designs and delivers modular buildings made from prefabricated 3D and 2D mass-timber components. The firm targets functional structures ranging from 300 m² to 5,000 m², including kindergartens, schools, offices, accommodations and residential blocks. Its standardized, highly automated production process shortens construction timelines and leverages the carbon-storage benefits of wood, offering an alternative to conventional, high-emission construction. Wood Space completed more than 70 projects across Austria, Germany and Italy and currently employs around 20 people. In 2025 the company doubled its revenue versus 2024 despite a challenging broader construction market. Management plans to quadruple the footprint of its Hürm (Lower Austria) plant and implement a new, more industrialized production line capable of delivering over 20,000 m² of building area annually. The planned expansion is expected to create up to 50 additional jobs over the next three years and is being financed through aws Double Equity debt funding.
