DeNexus develops an end-to-end cyber risk management platform for industrial and operational technology networks, centered on its flagship product DeRISK™. DeRISK™ employs advanced simulation, AI, machine learning and internal OT network data to forecast incident probabilities and translate them into quantifiable financial risks. The solution is used by Global 1000 companies across energy, manufacturing, transportation and data center operations. Led by CEO Jose Seara, the company positions itself to establish the global standard in industrial cyber risk management for risk owners, investors, boards and the risk transfer market. The company intends to use its new funding to accelerate growth and expand product offerings and markets. DeNexus’s board includes Jose Seara, Alex Horvitz, Herb Madan, Rosa Kariger and incoming member Rimmo Jolly. DeNexus’ core product is DeRISK, a Cyber Risk Quantification and Management (CRQM) platform that uses AI, machine learning and probabilistic inference to produce evidence-based inside and outside data for industrial cyber risk management. The company maintains a DeNexus Knowledge Center of OT cyber risk data and a DeNexus Trusted Ecosystem for data integrity, encryption and anonymization to protect sensitive critical-infrastructure telemetry. DeNexus has built bottom-up accumulation models and plans continued model generation cadence (generation 5 deployed, generation 6 planned) including the first industrial Cyber CAT model in 2024. The firm is expanding sector coverage beyond power generation into manufacturing, energy transmission and distribution, and plans to add transportation, airports and data centers. On the commercial side, DeNexus reports having reached a million ARR and has progressed from friend-and-family funding to an initial VC investment. It has also secured a license to operate as an Innovative Insurance Broker in Bermuda through its subsidiary DNX Intermediaries and is developing risk-transfer products with capacity providers. The company targets Global 1000 industrial customers across North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific.
- Oxa
Participated · Equity · Sep 2018
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Oxford, Oxa builds a modular autonomy platform that combines software, hardware and fleet-management tools to retrofit and operate driverless vehicles in controlled industrial environments. The company focuses on “industrial mobile autonomy,” avoiding the complexity of open-road passenger applications in favor of repetitive, predictable driving tasks at ports, airports, warehouses and manufacturing facilities. Oxa’s system can convert a heavy-duty port truck to autonomous operation in less than a day, demonstrating rapid deployment capabilities for customers like DHL, BP and Vantec. By integrating its own sensors, compute stack and remote management software, the startup delivers a full-stack solution that can be adapted to multiple vehicle types. The new financing lifts Oxa’s total funding to more than $250 million, providing fresh capital to expand existing deployments and support upcoming commercial projects. Management intends to use the funds to scale with current partners and enter additional industrial sites globally, positioning the company for broader commercial rollout.
