The CEO and co‑founder Håkan Ludvigson has stated a goal to empower 1 billion people to participate in the home energy transition. Eliq provides a software platform that helps utility companies find and retain customers by upgrading communication with end users. Its product enables people to monitor electricity usage and demand patterns by ingesting data from smart meters, connected devices and weather analytics to deliver instant energy insights and promote efficiency. The company raised a €5 million Series A from Inven Capital, Contrarian Ventures and prior backers. The investment brings Eliq’s total funding since launch to €9 million. Eliq plans to use the fresh cash to bring more solutions to market more rapidly and to broaden its geographical reach across Europe. To support expansion it will grow teams in its HQ in Gothenburg and in London. Eliq provides a SaaS-based mobile app for monitoring and optimising electricity use to help customers understand and optimise their energy usage patterns. The platform uses mobile apps, artificial intelligence and seamless integration with energy tech such as solar panels, energy storage, electric vehicles and home automation. The company recently launched its services in France and struck a reseller deal with Canadian IT firm CGI. Eliq plans to use the new capital to expand into the UK by opening offices and to invest further in product development.
