Overview
Owned by DOCOMO Digital, b-ventures is a startup acceleration program which supports and develops the next generation of mobile innovators. The project was brought to life in 2013 by Mauro del Rio, Founder and President of Buongiorno, along with Simona Torre, following Buongiorno’s acquisition by NTT DOCOMO. The program focusses on early and seed stage startups operating in the mobile payment, mobile advertising and mobile content sectors. b-ventures supports DOCOMO Digital’s goal to remain connected to startups, entrepreneurs and the innovation technology ecosystem in Europe and Internationally. Since its introduction, 17 startups have been inducted into the program, receiving co-working spaces in Italy, Spain, UK and US, personalised co-financing support, intensive mentoring programs, multidisciplinary coaching and fundraising assistance. b-ventures acceleration program addresses early and seed stage startups operating in the mobile payment, mobile advertising and mobile content domains.

Oval combines expense tracking, automated saving and investing into a single AI-driven mobile app and adds a social element for users to share tips and strategies. The app supports 'round-ups', percentage-based savings, and fixed-amount savings tied to merchants, categories or tags. Oval aims to make saving virtually automatic and to harness collective intelligence from its user community alongside algorithmic recommendations. During its closed beta, users saved on average just over £400 over three months (about £135 per month), and the company reports users improve their saving behavior over time. Financially, Oval has raised €1.2M in funding to support product development and growth. Founding team members include CEO Benedetta Arese Lucini, co-founders Claudio Bedino and Edoardo Benedetto, and CTO Simone Marzola.

Tappx builds AdTech solutions centered on a Programmatic Server‑Side Ad Insertion (PSSAI) product for OTT/CTV, powered by AI and machine learning to deliver contextual ads. The company says its PSSAI can insert relevant video ads across any digital CTV or smart device, is device and player independent, and can help circumvent current ad blockers. Tappx intends to use EU backing to develop and launch the world’s first PSSAI OTT/CTV solution and scale programmatic, non‑intrusive advertising in streaming video. The platform currently processes over 400 billion ad requests per month worldwide. Tappx was founded in 2014 by Daniel Reina (CEO) and Antonio Hervás (CTO) and maintains offices in Barcelona, China, and India. In 2018 it was voted Spain’s 2nd fastest growing startup by TECH5 and The Next Web. Tappx is a cross-promotion platform that lets developers promote their apps and acquire users in a cost-effective way. Launched in February 2014 by Daniel Reina (CEO) and Antonio Hervás (CTO) and based in Barcelona, it has built a community of over 10,000 developers generating 600 million monthly impressions. Developers earn credits by showing other developers' ads and use those credits to buy placements, applying filters by country and app category. The company was accelerated by Wayra Barcelona and has opened an office in India. It raised €550k in its first financing and will use the funds to optimize its cross-promotion technology, launch a monetization solution and accelerate international growth. Following the round it will join b-ventures' accelerator program for tailored internationalization support, including mentorship and economic support.
