Overview
Banque Misr is an Egyptian bank founded by industrialist Talaat Pasha Harb in 1920. The government of the United Arab Republic nationalized the bank in 1960. The bank has branch offices in all of Egypt's governorates, and currency exchange and work permit offices for foreign workers in Egypt.

Flend aims to address Egypt's estimated $50 billion SME financing gap. The business plans to use new capital to expand its team, strengthen partnerships, and enhance its technology infrastructure. It intends to provide approximately EGP 1 billion (about $21 million) in loans to SMEs over the next year. The recent raise comprises both equity and debt to support these growth and lending objectives.
